CANCELED: My Future, My Way

This year, the Akron Rotary Club has continued its support of North High School. Last year we had an event called the Professional Skills Day where volunteers came to teach high school seniors about professional soft skills. This year, we have changed the program and called it “My Future, My Way.” This program has been designed from the ground up to better align with the new goals of the Akron Public School’s College and Career Academies. It will be presented to juniors and is meant to help the students learn about the three E’s of the academy, either ENROLLING, ENLISTING, or being EMPLOYED right out of high school, in a fun and interactive way. This will be instrumental in giving students an overview of each of these areas so they can make a more informed decision about their futures. 

We are asking for a commitment of 20 volunteers from 1-3:30p on March 19th at North High School. Information packets and a “lesson plan” will be provided to you when you arrive, so you only need to bring yourself and your extremely valuable insights! Please help us in guiding the students to make the best decision for their futures!
