The Dawson Creek Rotary Sunriser.
October 29, 2017

Good evening fellow Rotarians.  This is the first of what I hope to be a weekly update on important information you need to know about our club and Rotary.  This is my attempt to improve communication within the club and engage more of our club members in Rotary Service.  I value your ideas and dedication to Rotary.  Please reach out any time if you have something you wish to discuss with me, the Board or the club as a whole and I will do my best to ensure all ideas are heard. We want to be flexible so everyone has the opportunity to be part of Rotary Making a Difference.

As most of you know every month has a different theme in Rotary.  For November that theme is The Rotary Foundation.  Our Foundation is at the heart of Rotary and we hope to provide you with information and updates on how the Foundation can help you and how you can help the Foundation.

November 3, 2017 will be a very important meeting for our club as we discuss the future of the Web Auction.  Secretary Lou and Treasurer Mary have provided all of you with some information on some of the things needed to put on the auction as well as how we are currently spending the money.  Nicole will be providing a bit more information in the next week on alternatives that have been mentioned by several in the past.  It is very important that we get input on this fundraiser from all members of our club.  The more ideas we share the better our chances of arriving at the best solution for our Rotary clubs and our community.  If you are unable to make the meeting please share your thoughts with any member of the Board so we can get the best cross section possible.

Calendar of Events:

We have several events coming in the near future you should be aware of.  Please mark your calendars as all of these events are great ways to meet for fellowship and help our club to Make a Difference in our community.

November 30, 2017 – Club Assembly:
Club assemblies offer an opportunity to exchange ideas and share information about issues of importance to our Rotary club members. We would like all members to attend and especially new members.  A club assembly is held to seek member input to make certain that our club is able address your interests and concerns.  This is your opportunity to bring projects or initiatives to the attention of your fellow Rotarians as we all try to make a difference in our community.

We will have coffee, dessert and fellowship at 6:30, followed by the meeting from 7:00 to 9:00. Look for information from the board about topics to be discussed.  If you would like to add to the agenda please contact me or any board member.

Please mark the date on your calendar and register so we know you are coming.  You can register here:https://portal.clubrunner.ca/445/Event/dawson-creek-sunrise-club-assembly
