DESCRIPTION:Join us for our December presentation\, with Cameron Carlin fro
m His Grace Foundation.  His Grace Foundation provides physical\, emotion
al and financial support to the patients and families of the Bone Marrow T
ransplant Unit (BMTU) at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH).   In a single
year\, His Grace Foundation serves over 150 in-patient children receiving
a BMT and hundreds more visiting the out-patient clinic. Often described
as the ‘last hope for a cure’\, BMT patients suffer from life-threaten
 ing diseases such as leukemia\, lymphoma\, neuroblastoma\, SCIDS\, sickle
cell disease\, rare blood disorders\, brain tumors and other types of canc
er. Patients served by TCH often live in the Greater Houston area\, though
many travel from other cities\, states\, and even countries\, leaving beh
ind their local support systems and entering a 6-8 week period of isolatio
 n. Texas Children’s Hospital’s state-of-the-art and award winning Bone
Marrow Transplant Unit houses 25 beds across two floors in their Main Cam
pus complex. Cameron brings more than a decade of experience leading fundr
aising\, community engagement\, and program development across nonprofits
and professional sports. Most recently at Texas Children's Hospital\, he o
versaw a community fundraising portfolio generating more than $5.3 million
\, managing 100+ events and stewarding relationships with individuals\, sc
hools and businesses. Before that\, he held community relations roles with
the Houston Dynamo FC and the San Antonio Spurs\, designing programs that
reached thousands of children and families. He combines relationship driv
en fundraising with data-informed strategy and a genuine passion for conne
cting people to causes that matter. This work is also personal. Cameron kn
ows firsthand what it means to watch a family member endure a long\, diffi
cult hospital stay fighting a serious illness. The physical\, financial\,
and emotional exhaustion\, along with the isolating feeling of life moving
on outside those walls plays a huge toll on every member of the family. T
hat understanding is what drew Cameron to His Grace Foundation\, and what
drives him every day to show up for the families we serve.
