Mike is the lead Water Division personnel in charge of the stewardship and maintenance of the Watuppa Reservation and Copicut Reservoir Area.  He is the city's primary liaison to the Bioreserve partners and directs the city's continuing land conservation efforts that protect drinking water lands and regional biodiversity.

His other duties include managing two three-man crews that maintain the 5000 acres of watershed forest plus other water department assets around the city including numerous city-owned dams, water tank yards and green infrastructure features such as stormwater interceptors, detention ponds, drainage swales and rain gardens.

His latest special projects include establishment of the 20-mile Bioreserve Loop Trail and the establishment of the soon to-be-announced Bioreserve Environmental Education and Discovery Center.

Mike is a Fall River native and Durfee '74 graduate.  He received a Forestry Degree from UMASS Amherst in 1980 and has worked the forestry field in southeastern Mass since 1984.
