September 3, Guest Speaker Ibk

We got to hear from our current Lincoln East President, Ibukunoluwa Eunice Salami’s (IBK)  journey  of growth and transformation. Born and raised in bustling Lagos, Nigeria, she later moved to Benin City in 2014. Her academic path began with a B.Sc. in Systems Engineering, continued with a Master’s in Industrial Engineering, and has now led her to pursue a Ph.D. in Engineering Education Research at the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

Alongside her studies, Ibukunoluwa built valuable experience in industry before choosing to shift into academia, where her passion for research and education could thrive. Family dynamics shaped her journey, providing strength and perspective. Today, she focuses her research on engineering education, embodying the transition from industry to academia and showing how personal and professional experiences can come together to create new opportunities.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) 2025

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is an intensive leadership training program designed for high school juniors, seniors, and young adults. Organized by Rotary clubs and districts, RYLA helps participants develop their leadership skills, build confidence, and make lasting connections — all while having fun.

This year, the Lincoln East Rotary Club is proud to sponsor two exceptional young women to attend RYLA. The camp will take place from September 26th to 28th at Camp Calvin Crest in Fremont, Nebraska.

We are excited to support these outstanding students on their RYLA journey and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return!
