Bob Michl - Director of OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute)
Bob Michl is the director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nebraska. He has been with OLLI since 2018 where he first served as curriculum director. Michl always knew he wanted to be an educator. He attended UN-L as a student, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree (1983), Master of Science Degree (1995), Specialist's degree (2002) and his Ph.D. degree (2006).
Michl spent 35 years as a public school educator, with 18 years in the classroom and 17 years as a high school Principal. Michl was named Nebraska High School Principal of the year in 2011. He retired in 2017.

Mick McKinley, District Foundation Chairperson talked to us “Doing Good in the World” through the Rotary Foundation. The mission of the Rotary Foundation helps Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty.
The Rotary Foundation has three funds that we as Rotarians can make contributions to. These are: Annual Fund – EREY, Polio Plus – Eradicating Polio, and Endowment Fund – Sustaining the Foundation.
When you give to Annual Fund – SHARE, The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into service projects that change lives close to home and around the world.
Have you ever wondered why LERC is the way it is? I’d like to suggest that it is important, as a member of LERC to understand the way our club is and why it is that way. Can we understand what makes it tick so we can make it better? As we think logically and consistently about who we are, we are able to determine “cause and effect” relationships between what we do and the results of what we do. While examining those relationships we will deduce some basic principles which we can use to make our club successful and meaningful.

Pre-conference starts on Thursday, March 30 with a performance by a man who is changing the world through music. YoY o Ma, a renown cellist, will be performing at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Rotary will be given a special rate to attend.
Friday – March 31:
“Rotary’s Got Talent” social and performances by our own renown 5650 stars. There will lots of fun and an opportunity to raise funds for polio. There will be tours of Nebraska Innovation Campus, which will be the home of 2023 District Conference. The tours will be held before the Friday social event.

Presentations will be by: Chancellor Ronnie Green, Welcome to UNL; Dr. Brady Beecham, former RYE and Ambassadorial Scholar; Dr. Jeffrey Gold, Chancellor UNMC, World health challenges; NE Senator Tom Brewer, Stories from Ukraine; Director Tony Goins, NE Econ. Dev., Building Community.
