President Message

Abraham Lincoln, when he was a young man, was full of storms.  He had the makings of a neurotic.  In 1841 he wrote, “I am now the most miserable man living.  If what I feel were equally distributed to the whole human family, there’d not be one cheerful face on earth.”  And yet we look to Lincoln as the man of kindness, of sympathy and understanding, and above all, a man of wisdom.  Whatever happened to Lincoln?  Apparently, it was not that he centered himself upon his problem and fought the whole thing through.  It was that he centered himself on another problem outside himself.  He caught a vision, he had a dream.  And that dream was the preservation of the Union.  And Abraham Lincoln threw himself into that cause, into that dream with every fiber within him.  And became the great man that he was.
