Pastor Tom Barber, Executive Director - Peoples City Mission
People’s City Mission was started in 1907 by local churches, offering food and shelter for transient and impoverished men, women and children.
Our Mission is to be a witness for Christ among the poor and homeless, serve their needs, and advocate their cause to the community at large. The Core Values of the Mission is:
This week I’d like to suggest that Rotary does not have grandchildren. By this I mean that while we should teach the principles of Rotary to our children or grandchildren, Rotary membership is for individuals, every person individually as a member. We are not a Rotarian through someone else. Every Rotarian is a first-generation Rotarian. You cannot simply be acculturated into the Rotary family, living it because that is the way we were raised, because it is comfortable, or because it is all we know. Being cultural Rotarians is not enough to transmit our principles, the four-way test and SERVICE ABOVE SELF, to the next generation.

Dale Lloyd in 2019 when we honored the firefighter of the year. Because of COVID, we have not been able to honor these wonderful people who work so hard to keep us safe. Hopefully, we can do this once again in 2022.
Keep all our Rotarians in your prayers and thoughts as we continue fight with variants from the COVID-19.
Even with the vaccine, we continue to keep all of our teachers, school officials, and students, EMT's and first responders, hospital doctors and nurses, supermarket clerks, restaurant workers laid off or furloughed and waiting for unemployment, all those who are currently unemployed, human service organizations who still are open to serve those poor/homeless/hungry, funeral home workers, churches, airline employees, hotel employees, gas station and convenience store workers.
If you know of any of our members you would like for us to mention who are ill or need prayer, please let Greg know and we will put it in the SPOKE.
