Donna Hammack is the Chief Development Officer at St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart Foundation, a position she has held since 2000. Prior to that she was with Good Samaritan Foundation in Kearney where she was responsible for funding and directing the Mid-Nebraska Telemedicine Network. In Lincoln, she is responsible for all aspects of philanthropy--working with wills, bequests, grants and campaigns. She also heads up allocating charity care to patients when they are discharged from the hospital; the majority of this is medication assistance and transportation. Employee assistance is also provided for those in emergent situations.
Funding for Pediatric Place--hospital and ER just for kids--was a unique addition to the Lincoln community and totally funded by the Foundation. A significant gift for the Burn Unit made possible a needed remodeling. Most recently, she has been working on the establishment of the Louise D Schleich Women's Health Center. The most satisfying part of what she does is working with people from all walks of life--and helping to improve health opportunities for the community.
Valerie Hunt informed us that Bryan Health will be 100 years old in 2026. It was the first hospital with a Trauma department and the first in cardio support and worked with football teams.
During my scholastic career I took many mid-term exams. Tests taken in the middle of the semester to let you know how you are doing halfway through. In law school the grade was never recorded in the transcript , there was nothing permanent about it. But it was nice to know how you were doing before it was too late.

Even with the vaccine, we continue to keep all of our teachers, school officials, and students, EMT's and first responders, hospital doctors and nurses, supermarket clerks, restaurant workers laid off or furloughed and waiting for unemployment, all those who are currently unemployed, human service organizations who still are open to serve those poor/homeless/hungry, funeral home workers, churches, airline employees, hotel employees, gas station and convenience store workers.
