President Dennis Message
Rotarians:

We are going to hold our next meeting in person.  On June 10th we will meet at Antelope Park (32nd and A Streets) and begin our meeting at noon.  We will be at an open-air shelter about 50 yards North of the entrance to the Veterans Memorial Garden.  This is near the North East corner of the Auld Pavilion, where we have the Sum Fun Picnic.

A few notes about this.  If you are uncomfortable being “near” others, don’t feel you must attend.  If you do attend, please wear a mask.  No meal will be provided, so you may want to bring a sack lunch.  You may want to bring hand sanitizers.  We will socially distance, there are some picnic tables there, but I suggest you bring along a lawn chair so that we can spread out.  We will be collecting $3.00 for the meeting, and Happy Dollars, also will take up a collection for the Rotary International Foundation.    We have not met for over two months, so think about trying to help the club meet our goals and budget.

There will be some presentations about those meeting Paul Harris levels, giving Sue her President’s pin, discussions about what Rotary has meant for you, who sponsored you, and of course we expect there to be a bad joke of the day!

The next week we will be back on Zoom, but for the first time in weeks, we can see each other.  If you want to come early, we are having our board meeting there at 10:30, and by 11:45 could certainly have some social time together.

See you on Wednesday,

Dennis
Rotary Year 2020-2021 Participation
It is time for you, as members of Lincoln East Rotary, to start thinking about your monthly service to the Club for 2020-2021.  When we return to in-person meetings we will be needing Greeters, Assistant Sargent-in-Arms, Cashiers, and Program Chairs.  These will be done on a monthly basis.  As we are currently doing virtual/outdoor meetings, we need someone to step up for Program Chair starting in July.  If you are interested, please contact Minnie Stephens, Club Administer, at 402-466-1545 or minniemouse1041@windstream.net, or Sue Schuerman, incoming President, at 702-524-7199 or sunshine5254824@twc.com.

Wellness
Wellness Chairman Greg Schnasse has requested information in regard to any illness by club members and/or their family members.
Greg’s contacts:
Phone: 402-440-9917

Greg visited with Gene Roth last week.  There is really no change with him or Barb.  Gene does not walk alone much at all and that he only uses the walker to transport himself in and out of wheelchair, which is his main mode of transportation.

Mike Carr - Greg has been unable to visit with him, continue to keep Mike in your prayers.

Barry Stelk - keep him in your prayers as he had surgery on Tuesday.

We should continue to keep all of our EMT's and first responders, hospital doctors and nurses, supermarket clerks, restaurant workers laid off or furloughed and waiting for unemployment, all those who are currently unemployed, human service organizations who still are open to serve those poor/homeless/hungry, funeral home workers, churches, airline employees, hotel employees, gas station and convenience store workers.

If you know of any of our members you would like for us to mention who are ill or need a prayer, please let Greg know and we will put it in the SPOKE.
