Chris Helzer - The Nature Conservancy’s Director of Science in Nebraska

Topic:  "Square Meter Photography Project."

Tim Timmons has been with the Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department since 1974 and since 1998 he has been working with the Communicable Disease Program. 

Tim talked to us about the challenges that his Department had with the COVID-19 pandemic which is not over yet.  Tim said that in the 1980’s we had AIDS, in 2001 we had Hand tracks, and in 2009 Eboli pandemic, but nothing challenged them more than the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. 

Starting with our May 5th meeting we will be meeting back at Valentino's in our regular room.  Our food will be catered by Val's.  All orders must be in by Friday NOON.  You will need to wear a MASK at these meetings.  Some of our speakers may be in person or via ZOOM. 

Howard L. Wiegers -- passed away on April 24, 2021 peacefully at the age of 105.

Help is needed to help raise the flags at the Veterans Memorial Garden on May 11th at 10:00 AM in honor of the 360 Program and taken down on May 13th at 10:00 AM.  Please contact Paul Horton if available to help.

  Wellness Chairman Greg Schnasse has requested information in regard to any illness by club members and/or their family members.

Even with the vaccine we continue to keep all of our teachers, school officials, and students, EMT's and first responders, hospital doctors and nurses, supermarket clerks, restaurant workers laid off or furloughed and waiting for unemployment, all those who are currently unemployed, human service organizations who still are open to serve those poor/homeless/hungry, funeral home workers, churches, airline employees, hotel employees, gas station and convenience store workers.
