Even with the vaccine, we continue to keep all of our teachers, school officials, and students, EMT's and first responders, hospital doctors and nurses, supermarket clerks, restaurant workers laid off or furloughed and waiting for unemployment, all those who are currently unemployed, human service organizations who still are open to serve those poor/homeless/hungry, funeral home workers, churches, airline employees, hotel employees, gas station and convenience store workers.

Vickie McDonald, Executive Director of Nebraska Association of the Former State Legislators spoke to our club today. Vickie had visited Lincoln East Rotary back when we were meeting at Valentino’s Buffet telling us about the restoration of the Courtyard gardens and fountains. At the time they were trying to raise about a million dollars to restore the Courtyard gardens and have some for maintenance in the coming years. Vickie told us that the Courtyard gardens are all done and that they have raised more than a million dollars.
When some of the Lincoln East Rotary Club members visited the National Roller Skating Museum located at the corner of 48th & South street, we learned about the "Evolution of the Wheel." Just think of the different types of wheels that were put on roller skates throughout the years.
