Don Wilhite - Climate Science

Don Wilhite is a professor and director emeritus of applied climate science, School of Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA. Prior to August 2012, he served as director of the School of Natural Resources, a position he held from 2007 to 2012. Don founded the U.S. National Drought Mitigation Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1995 and served as its director until 2007.

Kathie Phillips - Hearts United for Animals

Today, Lincoln East Rotary heard from Kathie Phillips about “Hearts United for Animals (HUA).” This organization is dedicated to the relief of animal suffering. HUA is a no-kill organization dedicated to relieving the suffering of domestic animals by providing quality shelter, sanctuary, and adoptions, and by promoting animal welfare issues. These efforts have resulted in thousands of dog and cat adoptions since 1989.

Sum Fun Picnic - July 21, 2023

We will be helping with the Sum Fun Picnic on July 21st. We will need volunteers to help cook the hot dogs, cook the beans, set-up, serve the food, and clean-up afterwards. This picnic is held at Antelope Park's Auld Pavilion. A sign-up sheet will be forthcoming to sign up in the other areas. Thank you for doing what Rotarians do -- "SERVE ABOVE SELF."
