Mpikelelo M. Maseko

Mpikelelo M Maseko is a Fulbright Scholar in Residence from Zimbabwe being hosted by the Nebraska Wesleyan University’s psychology department. He is a psychology lecturer at the Midlands State University, Zimbabwe, where he has developed and taught courses in environmental psychology, critical and indigenous psychologies, community empowerment and systems change, and community psychology. He holds an MSc. in community psychology from Midlands State and is completing his doctoral studies. He has research interests in community psychology, African Psychology, adolescent health, substance use and abuse, and ableism. He is a registered psychologist with the Zimbabwe Allied Health Practitioners Council.

ALERT!!  Change in location --

ALERT!!! LOCATION CHANGE

Please note that we will be meeting at The Landing on Wednesday, May 24th. 

The Landing is located at 3500 Faulkner Drive.  Come to the central entrance where you will find the white cover entryway.  We will be using the education room on second floor and a meal will be provided.  Volunteers will be needed to help with parking and entering the building, if you can help, please contact Chuck Erickson (cerickson2003@gmail.com).  Thank you to all for helping for making this happen.  Below is the menu for Wednesday and each week this menu changes.  The cost is $10.00 and the drinks are free.

A.) Garden Salad served with Mixed Greens, Carrots, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Cheddar, Scallions & Croutons v
B.) BBQ Pork Sandwich on a Bun served with Coleslaw
Pat Lopez - Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Dept.

Pat Lopez, Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Director talked to Lincoln East Rotary about the many different facets of health department.  There is the Community Health Services, Dental Health & Nutrition, Health Promotion & Outreach, Environmental Public Health, Animal Control, and Public Health Informatics & Planning.

Flag Raising - Memorial Day 

Volunteers to Raise Flags

Volunteers are needed on May 26th at 10:00 am to put up the flags at Antelope Park Veterans Garden.  If you are interested please contact Duane Tappe.  They may leave them up until June 12th, but Duane will let us know if they come down shortly after Memorial Day. Sum Fun Picnic - July 21, 2023

Sum Fun Picnic - July 21, 2023

We will be helping with the Sum Fun Picnic on July 21st.  We will need volunteers to help cook the hot dogs, cook the beans, set-up, serve the food, and clean-up afterwards.  This picnic is held at Antelope Park's Auld Pavilion.  A sign-up sheet will be forthcoming to sign up in the other areas.  Thank you for doing what Rotarians do -- "SERVE ABOVE SELF."
