am Hale is serving her 13th year as principal of Norwood Park Elementary in Northeast Lincoln.  One of Lincoln's smallest elementary schools serving students since 1921, she is very proud to be a part of its history in the community. Hale was hired to help the school re-energize after a near closer and has worked tirelessly to create a strong sense of belonging among the students, parents, staff and local community members. It is a school that focuses on supporting students and setting them up for success to continue their educational journey. She is very passionate about her Title 1 Norwood Park family and helping students and families flourish.

Prior to becoming a principal Pam served at Randolph Elementary as both 4th grade teacher and the special education and instructional coordinator from 2004-2010. There she developed her understanding and skills in supporting students with special needs working on programming, leading professional development in both academics and curriculum, and engaging parents in academic programming for special needs students. She loved being a Randolph Roadrunner and has many wonderful memories from this period of time in her career.

Pam graduated from California State University with her degree in elementary education and administration spending the first 14 years of her career teaching in California.  There she worked two districts serving both a Title 1 school and a affluent school.  During her early years she set a goal to teach at every level K-5, which she did including an amazing opportunity to create and pilot a multiage classroom program and looping program for upper grade students. She also had the opportunity to be on the forefront of second language acquisition instruction for elementary studennts becoming a trainer of trainer for ELL teachers.

Pam's passion for teaching and learning has never disappeared. Over the years she's become a huge advocate for family engagement, special education supports and mental health. She believes strong in community engagement and partnering to support all students in their educational journey.  She often says, "Circumstances can not and do not define a child, but rather the love and support for a child to find their authentic self, help them build confidence and dreams, and then work to give them as many skills as possible to launch them from elementary school into their educational futures.

In her free time she loves gardening, baking and cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. March 8, 2024 - International Women's Day 2024 -- (International Women's Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.)

 

March 11-17, 2024 -- World Rotaract Week 

 

There are several ways you can get a make-up if you can't attend a meeting in person and I encourage you do one of these:

 

1)  Join us in a Zoom meeting  (See the link in this newsletter)

2)  Attend a meeting at one of the other clubs:

             a)  Lincoln Club 14 -- Tuesday (Noon) - 230 N. 12th Street, Suite 1

             b)  Living Spirits Club -- Tuesday (6:00 pm) -- JCMF Children's Charities, 8445 Executive Woods Dr., Suite B

             c)  Lincoln South - Friday (Noon) -- Venue Restaurant & Lounge, Private Dinning Rooms, 4111 Pioneer Woods Dr.

3)  Attend a service project or social event during the respective week.
