The Mission of the Food Bank of Lincoln is to alleviate hunger in Southeast Nebraska.

 

Scott Young is the Executive Director of the Food Bank of Lincoln.  He began that job on September 10^th 2001 after a 28 year broadcasting career.  He is a 2001 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in Communication.  In the spring of 2011 he received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from NWU.

 

He serves on the Bryan Medical Center Board of Trustees and is on the Board of Directors of Feeding America, America’s Food Banking network. He has also volunteered for Lincoln Public Schools, Clinton Elementary School, the YMCA, Friendship Home, Lincoln Children’s Zoo, and the Gathering Place soup kitchen in Lincoln.  

 

Scott and his wife JoAnne, who is a Statehouse Reporter for the Lincoln Journal Star have 3 children, 2 children-in-law, and 5 grandchildren.
