Thank you to Alynn Sampson for sharing the history, mission and goals of Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach. Matt Talbot has a long history serving the most vulnerable in Lincoln, providing safety nets and resources in critical areas. Along with the direct services provided, Matt Talbot staff participate in weekly calls with other Lincoln agencies to coordinate resources and activities for clients. We appreciate Alynn's time in answering our questions, including topics about housing and the continuum of care list.
We look forward to presenting Matt Talbot with a holiday offering after our collection ends on December 17. The Lincoln East Rotary Foundation will match our contributions!
Alynn Sampson serves as Executive Director at Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach which is a local nonprofit working to end hunger and homelessness. She has been in this position since August 2023 following a 15-year career at the Food Bank of Lincoln in Nebraska where she served as Vice President, Operations & Impact.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Alynn believes in the importance of being involved in the community and is a strong advocate for justice and equity. She has previously served two terms on the National Association of Social Workers-Nebraska Chapter board, served as President for the Board of Directors at Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach and currently serves on the board for NAMI-Nebraska which is the National Alliance for Mental Illness Nebraska chapter.
Alynn is married and she and her husband Will share two children together-Eli who is 17 and Everly who is 10.
