Nataliia Bohuta shared her inspiring story, detailing how her passion for teaching began in her home country of Ukraine through private English tutoring, volunteering at summer and church camps, and working as an elementary teacher.

Since arriving in Lincoln in April 2022, Nataliia has not only embraced her new community but has also become an invaluable part of it. Her journey began as a student in free English classes at Lincoln Literacy. Soon, her natural talent for teaching was recognized, and she was hired to teach English for Lincoln Literacy.

Nataliia’s love for her students shines through in her engaging lessons and her commitment to providing a richer educational experience. She takes her classes beyond the classroom walls, leading memorable field trips to local parks, the zoo, law enforcement offices, libraries, and more, all to help her students connect with the Lincoln community.

Her dedication was further recognized when she was a guest speaker at last year's Lincoln Literacy Global Celebration, an annual celebration of students, tutors, staff, and the community.
