At our April 7th Meeting We got to hear from 2017 PNR Speech Contest winner Andi Li about a cause that was near to his heart.  To hear more about his cause and the PNR's Speech contest please see the continued story below.

Andi Li, 2017 PNR Rotary Speech Contest winner and junior at Foothill High School, had asked if he could help promote a fundraiser in which he is participating.  So we invited him to be a guest on Friday and say a few words about it.  Andi is seeking to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year, funds raised will support the two Students of the Year, James (17) and Nomi (13), as well as medical research for the LLS and the general patient fund. After Andi’s short pitch, Bruce asked President “Slick” about passing the hat, to which approval was given. Generous as always, approximately 30 attendees put $330 into the bag for Andi to put toward his $5000 goal.  For more information, please go to the following link: .

While mentioning Andi, we also want to recognize his participation in the Area 4 Speech Contest held at Tri-Valley Evening Rotary Club meeting in late March.  Helping at the event was Mark as Head Teller, Lara as Teller, and Susan as a Judge.  They were joined by other PNR members, Ron, David, Caroline, and Carlos.
