A Great Year for Foothill High Interact Club

Foothill High School High Rotary Interact Club has completed a successful year of fund-raising and membership growth.

Outgoing president Alex Ku and secretary Jeffrey Chen addressed Pleasanton North Rotary members at their weekly meeting, Jun 15, to describe the highlights.

The club reached its goal of attracting more than 50 active members. In combination, they provided 1024 hours of volunteer community service during the school year, Alex said.

The members collected more than 100 cans of food during a holiday charity drive and successfully meet its financial goals for donations to programs relieving hunger in Africa. Charity events included Caroling for a Cause, gift wrapping at Barnes & Noble story, and dinner promotions at Sweet Tomatoes, and Panda Express.

Alex and Jeffrey credited the annual Rotary Leadership Conference and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program for the training and inspiration to help their club reach its goals.
