Eyes on the Prize

Effiom Whyte, a member of our sister Rotary Club in Kingston, Jamaica, since 2004, will be speaking about his life and his recently published book.

Effiom had a varied and interesting career, starting out in the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing as an infantry Platoon Commander and Pilot/Instructor for ten years and then transitioning to become a Commericial Pilot for Air Jamaica and the Caribbean Airlines retiring from the airlines in 2014.

He was the National Coordinator for the Governor-General's Program for Excellence between 2014 and 2017 and is currently the Coordinator for Member Relations of the Jamaica National Group.

Effiom is passionate about Nation Building and Service above self and has served in various capacities including Commanding Officer of the Jamaican Defence Force Air Wing, Director of Flight Operations for Air Jamaica, as well as terms as President, Secretary, and Director of Internation Service for the Kingston Rotary Club.

With the assistance of our own Dan Macpherson, Effiom recently completed a book, entitled "Eyes on the Prize".
