Growing Futures Vision Screener Update
Thank you to everyone who help raise additional funds for the vision screening device for Growing Futures Early Education Center!
Total Cost: $6,470
Funds Raised: $5,312
Our club funds and the District Grant match raised $4,230, we raised an additional $1,080! This includes personal contributions from club members as well as outside donations from other friends and neighbors as a result of us promoting our project to our wider networks and spreading the word about our club and what Rotary can accomplish.

Growing Futures Early Education Center, serves more than 200 children and their families with Early Head Start and Head Start programs in Johnson County. The services they offer include comprehensive support services including health and nutrition services, onsite play therapy, parent education, mental health, medical and dental health, family support and engagement opportunities.

Onsite Vision Screenings
The Federal Government requires Growing Futures to perform a mandatory vision screening for each child served. Normally, an onsite screening day required an outside provider to come to the center. If a family missed a school on a screening day, they would have to work to schedule an outside appointment. Having a screening machine onsite means greater flexibility and the possibility of screening during home visits. Anything to lessen the impacts of hassle in families' lives can translate to better growing and learning.
