Today's Speakers: Allison Kelly and Laurie Mozley
Allison and Laurie will provide us with an update on the Rotary Youth Camp.  The camp is the recepient of the club's annual KC Day paper/Flag sale event that will be held this year on March 28.  That is also the day of the Royals Home Opener.

Greater KC Days (Royals Opening Day)
Lisa Battani braved the chilly weather last year with many others to sell the KC Star special edition of the Royals season ON OPENING DAY!
Start your day selling papers and then enjoy the season opener for the Kansas City Royals!
So what do these things have to do with today's speakers?
The proceeds go to support the Rotary Youth Camp. Rotarians around the city participate in this fundraiser.
Check out the Rotary webpage for the camp: https://www.rotary13.org/page/rotary-youth-camp

Grocery Grab is Coming Soon
 GROCERY GRAB AT HYVEE

Ed Coulter will once again hed up our Grocery Grab Fundraiser on April 13, Mission HyVee.

What we know so far is that the Friday before, 4/9, we'll have a Social at which finalists are selected.

If this is new to you, we each sell tickets with names on them. When the finalists are selected, they have 5 minutes to run through the store and collect a cart of groceries.

Ed Coulter is handing out tickets to each rotarian. The goal is to sell those and more!  One idea is to sell to a colleague or friend or neighbor and have them donate it back to heighten chances of a given charity.

Merriam Park Elementary to Kauffman Center
Coach Dre` matched us up with an opportunity to assist the Merriam Park Elementary School and the SMKS Rotary Club Board approved funding.
Merriam Park's  3rd, 4th, and 5th grade field trip (on April 4th) to go to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The students learn so much from this field trip and it’s really reasonably priced.  The Kaufman Center describes the program here, scroll down to April 4th..

The total cost is $484. Kauffman Center’s Open Doors program provided a grant that will cover transportation. All students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th will attend along with the choir director, their classroom teachers, paras, and a few parents to support specific students. Before attending the Link Up: The Orchestra Moves concert, students will learn the pieces to be performed at the concert in music class.  Here's a YouTube example of what They will do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPVu-2MNtZ0.
