Those of us who gathered at the Clocktower met Becky Fankhauser, whose business shares the same sidewalk!

She is a small business owner, with a garage startup and has expanded to Johnson Drive.

Garage Door Apparel Co. was started in a garage 5 years ago with many ideas to shake up the t-shirt world. The Rotary Club of Shawnee Mission KS is the Charter Organization for Cub Scout Pack 3269. 

Jeff Jennings came to our specific Rotary Club from his previous relationship with Pack 3269, and we have, in turn, re-energized our relationship with the Pack.  I happily agreed to serve as the Charter Organization Representative. In the larger perspective of BSA, and of the Heart of America Council, it has been a time of challenge to the core of the organization. Past lapses of accountability and breaches of trust have threatened the future mission of this fantastic organization. Girls have now entered all levels of the program from Cubs to Scouts to Explorers and the country's first female has earned Eagle Scout.

 

This year's re-charter process is underway and I hope you will be pleased with how previous breaches are being addressed.
