No meeting this week. 

 

A note from Nate Ourada: The 2022 Navy JROTC National Championship at NAS Pensacola, FL was this past Monday.  The kids once again did great and we were crowned the National Champions in Armed Regulation Drill, National Runner-Up in both Unarmed Regulation Drill and Sit-Ups, 3^rd in the country in Overall Drill.  We didn’t have one of the ten events where we finished outside of the Top 10.  This resulted in an Overall finish of 6^th Place in the country.  Another great performance by these young Americans!  I will be presenting the Rowlands Scholarship to a deserving Cadet on the football field at North on Sat 23 April. These kids will put on an absolutely inspiring drill display after the ceremony for those interested in watching.

 

 

Please dont forget we are collecting items for the food pantry! Canned goods, mac & cheese, pasta, rice, peanut butter and canned meats are among the most sought after items. Bring your donations to the next in person meeting. 

 

 

The sign-up for Mission's Citywide Clean-up is now online. The clean-up will be Saturday, April 23 from 9-11. We'll start at Beverly Park across the street from the Powell Community Center. There will be breakfast and music and fun as everyone gets their clean-up assignments and picks up supplies before heading out. We will tackle our Adopt-a-Street section on Lamar Avenue, but depending on how many volunteers we have, we may be able to tackle a bit more.
