Wed, April 3 Meeting: 6pm Broadmoor Bistro

April 3rd, 6:00 pm is the date for an evening outing to the Broadmoor Bistro.
This is a chance for us to share an event with other members of District Rotary Clubs and experience the Culinary Arts program of the Shawnee Mission School District.
It will be a 4 course, fixed price menu, and individuals, friends, and spouses are welcome.
Thurs, April 4: Merriam Park Elementary to Kauffman Center
Coach Dre` matched us up with an opportunity to assist the Merriam Park Elementary School and the SMKS Rotary Club Board approved funding.
Merriam Park's  3rd, 4th, and 5th grade field trip (on April 4th) to go to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The students learn so much from this field trip and it’s really reasonably priced.  The Kaufman Center describes the program here, scroll down to April 4th..

The total cost is $484. Kauffman Center’s Open Doors program provided a grant that will cover transportation. All students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th will attend along with the choir director, their classroom teachers, paras, and a few parents to support specific students. Before attending the Link Up: The Orchestra Moves concert, students will learn the pieces to be performed at the concert in music class.  Here's a YouTube example of what They will do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPVu-2MNtZ0.

Tues, Apr 9: Pints for Polio
Hello Shawnee Mission Rotary friends,

SAVE THE DATE & Join us for the next "PINTS FOR POLIO" ON TUESDAY, APRIL 9TH; from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM ; once again at the Martin City Brewery & Pub.

As we handled this last fall we would like to have each club that joins us have the opportunity to collect their own members' and invited guests' donations. We will have the usual sign-in to help track beers, pizzas and donations!

Our goal is to reach 100 folks participating and have the combined donations from all the participating clubs equal $2500 for Polio Plus.

Please call me if you have any questions and let me know how many of your members can join us. Notice that we will be starting the event earlier to allow folks to come at different times.
