Roger was born in Shelby, North Carolina just across the state line from the farm in Upstate South Carolina where he grew up. His wife, Trudy, is a native Kansan. Roger and Trudy have a large family- 15 grandchildren,12 boys and 3 girls, between the two of them! Roger is the Senior Minister at Countryside Christian Church, and he holds a Doctor of Ministry degree. Roger's hobbies include playing golf, hunting (especially upland birds), and officiating both volleyball and baseball (high school and college). His favorite vacation spot is either Charleston or Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His favorite book is “When Bad Things Happen to Good People” and his favorite movie is “The Sound of Music.” Roger enjoys watching old westerns on TV. At Karaoke Night, Roger would sing a wonderful rendition of “God Bless the USA.” His preferred super power would be the ability to fly. Roger's favorite meal is South Carolina BBQ (be nice to him everyone!) – specifically pulled pork, burnt ends, and ribs. |
