Please join us for the Lamar Strreet Clean Up on Saturday September 30th at 9am. We will meet at the Bubble Room Laudromat at 51st and Lamar. Please contact Wayne London if you want to join us! Our Shawnee Mission Club is going to volunteer to help out in the Johnson County Christmas Bureau’s “Holiday Shop”, December 1-9. If our group can get 15 or more volunteers, then JCCB will allow the group to sign-up for volunteer hours in the Holiday Shop BEFORE the sign-up is opened to the general public on October 1st. We would like to partner in this activity with Lenexa, Ambassadors, and Western JC - hopefully to get to know each other better leading to more interaction, and obviously to reach the magic 15 volunteers. Doing so, we all might be able to more easily choose the times/dates to volunteer that would fit into everyone’s busy December schedules. The Ambassadors' fun Happy Hour and Chat gathering of Clubs at Lake Quivera on Sept 10 left me with good feelings about Club interaction. Sign up sheet will be at the meeting tomorrow! |
