On Saturday morning, September 10th, Rotarians and participants from The Mission Project gave some much needed attention to the area at Johnson Drive and Metcalf that was once known as Herald's Corner. The group cleared brush and limbs and volunteer trees (avoiding the poison ivy!) re-painted wooden bollards, and picked up several bags of trash. It was a great day, including weather-wise, and it was the debut of our new 'Shawnee Mission Rotary at Work' banner! It was a great three-way partnership between the City of Mission, our Rotary club and The Mission. We were also very glad to have Past District Governor Ellis Potter from the Iola Club in District 6110 join us for the project. Good, quick work that made a real difference in the appearance of the area!
