We enjoyed our first week at the Down Syndrome Guild building last week! It is our new meeting location, and it is located at 5960 Dearborn Street. This is just one block east of the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center on Dearborn, between Johnson Drive and Martway.
Parking: Please park in the overflow lot off of Beverly if you are able. For those who prefer closer parking, there are spaces available adjacent to the building, and street parking on Dearborn as well.
We will have greeters in the lobby the building to help you know you've come to the right place.
The change of location allows us to pay a lower weekly room charge than we were paying at the Sylvester Powell, Jr. Community Center, and that payment will support the programs of the Down Syndrome Guild. Amy Allison, the Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City, is our program speaker on Wednesday, and we are looking forward to building a stronger relationship with this local organization.
