ROTARY CLUB OF ALAMEDA AWARDS COLLEGE
SCHOLARSHIPS TO ALAMEDA STUDENTS
Every year the Rotary Club of Alameda encourages local
high school students to apply for our college scholarships.
A committee of Rotarians evaluates the applications
focusing on community service and academic
achievements. For 2023 there were many outstanding
applicants who exemplified the Rotary club “Service above
Self” motto as well as being excellent scholars. The 13
winners this year were Bilguun Bayarkhu, Ian Tan (both
from Encinal), Naila Cadden, Isabelle Tandradinata,
Angeline Yi (all from ASTI) Anthony Chen, Yuwei Fong,
Jeremy Harris, Theo Hartlaub, Sara Morisghige, Mya
Nguyen (all from Alameda High), Marwa Hashemi,
Heriberto Velez, (both from SJND). Congratulations to all
the hard-working scholarship recipients who each received
$1,000 towards college tuition. Rotary is an International
organization that supports education throughout the world,
