Alameda City Attorney - Alameda Prosecution program

Yibin Shen was appointed as City Attorney for the City of Alameda in May 2019. The mission of the City Attorney’s Office is to provide the City with the highest level of legal representation.  As advisors to City officials and staff, the Office provides timely and comprehensive assistance. As advocates, the Office represent the City and its employees vigorously and fairly. As prosecutors, City prosecutors diligently and justly enforce the law on behalf of the People of the State of California.  In all functions, the Office ethically and cost-effectively promote the community's interests in equity, justice and fairness. Prior to his appointment to Alameda, he served as Chief Deputy City Attorney for the City of Santa Monica. In that capacity, Mr. Shen oversaw two Divisions in the Office, one focusing on prosecutorial efforts and the other dedicated to providing traditional city attorney services to the entire City.  Prior to working for the City of Santa Monica, Mr. Shen worked in private practice.
