Tonight's meeting of The Rotary Club of Salisbury featured writer Jim Duffy whose storytelling focus is the culture and character of the Delmarva Peninsula.  He is the founder of Secrets of the Eastern Shore, which celebrates the region in words, pictures, and products.  He shared some interesting stories about the Salisbury area; stories not generally taught in Maryland history classes.

Our Get Acquainted...Get Reacquainted member was John Hall, a member since 1983.  John shared his life's story and Rotary involvement with club members as part of the club's effort to introduce or re-introduce veteran members to the club.  This has become a popular feature of our weekly meetings.

Along with the other Lower Eastern Shore Rotary clubs, our club is preparing for the October 16th Meals of Hope assembly project to prepare 60,000 meals for poor people on the Lower Eastern Shore.  Community members interested in volunteering alongside Rotarians for about three hours on the morning of October 16 can contact club president Bill Satterfield at billsatt@comcast.net.
