At our last meeting we heard from Mary Johnson about Housewarmers. She & Blair took over this business that covers Royse City, Fate, Union Valley, Rowlett area, Lavon area, and McClendon-Chisholm area. This is a new resident welcome service that is also a data tool for city services. Mary likes to call it a “Traveling Chamber of Commerce”. This welcome bag contains letters from the Mayor, and other city officials according to the area where they live along with ads from businesses. The first 6 months after a person moves, they spend more money on their homes than later on. They need to know where the goods and services in their area are located. Their goal is to get people to connect with their community. This is a wonderful service for our community—thank you Mary for sharing what you do with us!
