She said that she was in the most open place in the house when the twister hit without warning.
“I was standing here in the kitchen when it hit. It was so loud and frightening! I immediately went to the floor and prayed that God would save me. And not one thing touched me,” she said.
Her kitchen is a complete disaster and Ruby feels very blessed to be alive. Ruby will rebuild her house and put her life back together.
Ruby was very appreciative that strangers would care and provide for her. She said, “I’m grateful that people care and I’m grateful that people share and I’m grateful that they want to come and talk to me.”
John Adams, President of the Breakfast Rotary said, “It has been our great pleasure to provide a small portion of several hundred dollars to help Ruby recover from this tragedy. Rotary’s motto is ‘Service Above Self’ and our members take that very seriously in their daily lives. And our club is always seeking ways to help others and help make our communities better.”
