On 8/7 we had the pleasure of listening to a very interesting speech by Dianna Smoot, Director of Community Education at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
In this role, she oversees community outreach to raise awareness on child abuse issues as well as coordinates technical assistance for professionals in the areas of investigation, prosecution, and healing of these crimes. Her team works closely with child-serving agencies across our area to ensure that organizational policy and training are in accordance with best practice, and offers trainings to parents and children alike in an effort to better keep kids safe. Last year alone, the Education Team trained over 100,000 people on child abuse issues. |
