Lynda Warner exemplifies the values of Rotary, including service above self, fellowship, leadership, and a passion for others.

This quarterly award is designated for the one Rotarian in our club who clearly stands out in demonstrating “Service Above Self,” and holds a principled commitment to the Four-Way Test. A nominee for this award should be an outstanding club member who has made significant contributions to the mission and operation of our club, and to one or more avenues of Community or International Service.

Lynda has participated in and has been actively involved with our Club’s service projects, wearing numerous hats in Rotary and within our community.

  • Public Image/Social Media Board Chair of the Rotary Club of Southlake
  • RYLA Chair

Lynda has contributed to the day-to-day working of our club by helping with the tasks necessary for the club to function effectively, including enhancing our public image and promoting, encouraging and cultivating our Club’s social media efforts.

Lynda has stepped up on short notice when speakers were unable to speak, offering to give our Club a combination of a classification talk and pep talk. She has some great ideas and plans for increasing the scope and effectiveness of social media to the benefit of our club and even ourselves.

Lynda has taken an active leadership role within our club, participated in club activities that help to strengthen the camaraderie of the club, such as scheduling our Happy Hour/social events and participating in our quarterly trash pick-up initiative, Keep Southlake Beautiful.

Lynda frequently brings visitors and candidates for membership to the club. She has brought no less than 30 different people to our events – and that is a conservative estimate.

Lynda has contributed valuable input on a wide range of subjects, including social media, public image, and networking with other groups and individuals.

Linda always steps up on short notice when speakers were unable to speak, speaking on how we as a Club can improve our community visibility.

Lynda has participated in and helped to facilitate both District or RI programs, including the Guatemalan “Rise” Literacy Project, the Dictionary Project, and World Polio Day.

As one of our newest members, Lynda put forth an extremely generous proposition and challenged our Club to raise even more money. It was Lynda who challenged that if our Club raised $1000 for this project, she would match whatever was raised and give an additional $1,000. Lynda’s generosity resulted in many of our members donating to this worthy cause, enabling our Club to sponsor 3 Guatemalan children to continue pursuing their education.

In addition to her skillful, artful dancing, Lynda also was able to obtain a booth for our Club at Diwali Fest, allowing us the opportunity to introduce our Club to the community.

Lynda exemplifies the values of Rotary, including service above self, fellowship, leadership, and the passion for diversity and understanding. She has shared her gifts in social media, her thinking, her time, and her awesome talent to our club and in support of our community and world. She selflessly DOES for the Club with no intent for accolades or recognition.

Congratulations and thank you, Lynda Warner!

In recognition of your outstanding demonstration of Service Above Self; principled commitment to the 4-Way Test; contributions to the mission and operation of our club through each of the Rotary Avenues of Service; and for promoting Rotary by your actions and involvements.

Thank you from a grateful club.
