Southlake Rotarians Lisa McBee and Tim Schuetz proudly represented the Southlake Rotary Club at the Southlake Foundation’s "Diwali Fest" this past Saturday at the Southlake Town Square

Our presence at the fest was to bring public awareness of Rotary International, our Club, and the impactful community and international projects in which we participate and support.

Diwali Fest, held annually for at least the past 5 years, keeps getting bigger and bigger! Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights, is held in celebration and represents the spiritual victory of light over darkness and good over evil. The Southlake Foundation's stated mission “…is to create a platform for like-minded people to come together and contribute their little bits to make our community a better place for us to live in and our generations to enjoy.” It was a day of fun, fanfare, and supporting our diverse community!
Southlake Foundation President Kush Rao, in charge of putting this festival together and an occasional Southlake Rotary club visitor, was honored as Southlake’s “Citizen of the Year” this year for his unparalleled efforts in making Southlake a better place for everyone. Southlake Rotarians Lisa and Tim were also glad to be there in support of Kush’s efforts to bring light into this world!

The Southlake Rotary Club seeks dynamic new members to share in our efforts in making an impact in our communities, those able to promote our projects/activities and enhance public awareness about our Club and Rotary International.
