Brain Science of Addiction

Dr. Nicholas Heyne (MD), the Medical Director of Cornerstone Family Psychiatry with offices in Las Colinas and North Dallas, will be speaking today at our club at 12:00 noon at the Timarron Country Club. Specializing in adult and child/adolescent mental health treatment, as well as substance abuse/addiction therapy/management, Dr. Heyne plans to talk to us today about the brain science behind addiction -- providing a better understanding as to the why's and how's that occur when an individual is struggling with addiction and the impact this has on one's family. He will also address not only the diagnostics to understanding the meaning of 'addiction,' but will also provide some of the most evidence-based treatments offered over time.
