Local Transportation & Bond Proposal

Two hot topics in Tarrant County are the JPS Hospital Bond Issue and—as always—transportation.  County Commissioner Gary Fickes will be addressing both subjects at tomorrow’s meeting. The $800 million John Peter Smith Hospital bond proposal encompasses a wide range of facilities improvements and expansion. Considered by most to be fiscally conservative, Commissioner Fickes is nonetheless a strong proponent of this expenditure, and he’ll outline to us the benefits that passage of this bond would bring to every Tarrant County resident.  This is the last item listed on the ballot this election, but potentially the most impactful decision that voters will make. Commissioner Fickes will also bring us up to date on local transportation improvements that are nearing completion and others that are being considered or soon to be underway.
