Three Mistakes That Cost Entrepreneurs a Bigger Income
May 10, 2019 12:00 p.m.
We are excited to announce that Dagmar Fleming, the founder of Unlock Your Success program and creator of the Triple Quantum Reset process will be speaking at the Southlake Rotary Club on May 10, 2019, 12 pm at the Timarron Country Club. She will be sharing with us the three mistakes that cost entrepreneurs a bigger income. Dagmar is renowned as a success coach and mentor for personal transformation. She is also an entrepreneur & the founder of DBF International, a global consulting firm. About Dagmar, taken from her website: “I'm Dagmar Fleming, and I'm a genuine business hybrid - a blend of traditional, straightforward global business woman, spiritual and emotional healer, and intuitive empath. If you are skeptical because you think "global businesswoman" and "spiritual and emotional healer, and intuitive empath" are mutually exclusive, feel how powerfully the words, DISSOLVE EMOTIONAL BLOCKS TO YOUR BUSINESS SUCCESS, resonate within you, and if they do, keep reading. When I was in my teens, I had an early interest in business. Over the years, I went on to enjoy a highly successful international business career. As I moved into adulthood, I could not have been more surprised as I came to realize, that while my head for business was certainly a factor, my success was due in larger part to something completely beyond my business acumen. I discovered I also possessed incipient intuitive empathic abilities, as well as an aptitude for energy channeling, and spiritual and emotional healing. Think of it as a balance between my business Left Brain and my empathic Right Brain. With focused intention and purpose over the years, I cultivated and developed my Right Brain abilities to help others to identify and reprogram the negative emotional/energetic patterns that continually sabotage our ability to reach the full potential.” This should be a wonderful and informative program. Amon Carter—The Ultimate Texan
Jun. 14, 2019 12:00 p.m.
Come to our next meeting to meet Dave Lieber, journalist, writer and playwright of the upcoming premiere of “AMON! The Ultimate Texan.” This will be a great and entertaining presentation! [Taken from website: AmonPlay.com]: Amon G. Carter, Sr. is returning in the world premiere of AMON! The Ultimate Texan written by renowned journalist and longtime Texan, Dave Lieber. The play honors and celebrates the life and legacy of Amon G. Carter, Sr., the legendary Fort Worth civic booster and benefactor. As O.K. Carter said in a recent Dallas Observer article about Mr. Lieber and the play, “It is difficult to find any person, in any city, anywhere, that has had an impact on a community as much as Amon Carter did. Even though he’s not there, he was there.” Dave Lieber (Playwright) has had a busy year. In addition to writing two investigative columns a week as “The Watchdog” at The Dallas Morning News, Dave finished the script for AMON! THE ULTIMATE TEXAN. He also completed a companion book of the same name that includes 100 classic Amon Carter photos and many stories not in the play. The book is for sale at the end of each performance at Artisan. As “The Watchdog,” Dave writes about matters that affect the lives of his readers—high property taxes, crooked roofers, scheming electric companies and much, much more. Check out his work at DallasNews.com/Watchdog. When he’s not writing, Dave visits groups, companies and associations across the U.S. to entertain and teach business storytelling techniques. He’s earned his Certified Professional Speaking designation, one of only a thousand in the nation. AMON! is his first play—and his eighth book. Other books include The Dog of My Nightmares: Stories by Texas Columnist Dave Lieber and his popular Dave Lieber’s Watchdog Nation: Bite Back When Businesses and Scammers Do You Wrong. Dave is founder of Summer Santa, Inc., one of North Texas’ largest childrens’ charities. Summer Santa sends children in need from greater Northeast Tarrant County to summer camps, collects books and new toys for summertime distribution, sends kids to Artisan for their first play experience and offers free pre-camp medical checkups. Visit SummerSanta.org and learn about this charity that has no paid staff or physical office, but managed to raise and spend more than $1 million on behalf of area children. For his efforts Dave was awarded the Will Rogers Humanitarian Award from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists as the U.S. newspaper columnist who did the most to help his community. Dave’s website is https://davelieber.org/ DaveLieber.org and the play website is AmonPlay.com. |

Incoming Southlake Rotary's President, New Rotary Year Rollout
Jul. 19, 2019 12:00 p.m.
Our Club is looking forward to hearing from incoming President Dana L. White as she presents her vision for our club this year. Our district’s vision statement is as follows: “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.” We are excited to hear incoming President Dana White’s vision statement for our Club so more and more leaders and members have a chance to think about how these words reflect the impact we wish, as Rotarians, to have on the world. As Dana shares her vision statement with our Club members, we will have the opportunity to think about what it means to our club, enabling us all to look for opportunities to provide input into the strategic planning process, as well as help us chart a course for taking action to create lasting change. As People of Action, we understand that fulfilling that vision requires a plan. Our priorities include: increasing our impact, expanding our reach, enhancing participant engagement and increasing our ability to adapt. By helping to realize the goals of Dana’s vision, we will ensure a stronger and even more effective future for Rotary—a tremendous legacy. Our plan is rooted in our tried-and-true values and builds on the remarkable capabilities and spirit of Rotarians. We are always aware of the challenges that Rotary and the world face in protecting in protecting the value of human connection in an age of technology. We are certain Dana’s vision will lay out a path for bringing great ideas to the forefront of the global imagination of what’s possible. Her plan will undoubtedly provide us with a continuity of a Rotarian’s vision from year to year, keeping us moving toward fulfilling our shared purpose. #wearerotary #peopleofaction #rotaryconnectstheworld. |

Swim For Elise, A Positive Wave of Change
Aug. 02, 2019 12:00 p.m.
Tomorrow’s program comes very highly recommended by the Trophy Club and Metroport Rotary clubs, and should be of special interest to every member with a backyard pool or access to a neighborhood pool, and children at home or grandchildren who visit. You may be surprised to learn that the CDC reported in 2017 that, “nearly 1,000 children died from drowning and 8,700 visited a hospital emergency room because of a drowning event—with toddlers and teens at the highest risk.” Clearly, the message of water safety applies to all families, but it is even more crucial for Texas families who lose 80-100 children annually to fatal drowning. Fatal drownings happen to real North Texas families, but these drownings are entirely preventable. Learn how you can keep your loved ones safer around water. Visit with the founder of the Swim4Elise Foundation, Lori Cerami, who will share her daughter’s passion for swimming and the impact the foundation is making to raise awareness of water safety in our community. The F.L.A.G Program
Aug. 09, 2019 12:00 p.m.
Our program on Friday, August 9, 2019 will feature Retired Master Sgt. Jim Rodriguez, the President and Founder of the F.L.A.G. (Fly Low And Gather), a non-profit organization founded in the Fall of 2010, dedicated to teaching school children the appropriate etiquette for respecting and handling the U.S. flag. Jim’s motivation for creating F.L.A.G. came when he repeatedly observed the American flag being raised in a manner unbefitting its significance and merit while dropping his daughter off at school every morning. The program now engages students in restoring our flag tradition, “…teaching them the history, the etiquette and proper protocol surrounding the American flag….” [taken from F.L.A.G.’s website at https://theflagprogram.org/.] His mission is to “…instill patriotism and pride back into our schools, and to never forget those who fight for our freedom and this nation…” Jim's presentation is certain to be as inspiring as it is historical. “Apartments in Southlake? What?!”
Oct. 25, 2019 12:00 p.m.
Calling all Southlake citizens: You won’t want to miss this important topic! Cooper & Stebbins will be speaking at our Club regarding their proposal for a multifamily development in Southlake Town Square on October 25, 2019, 12:00 pm at the Timarron Country Club. Cooper & Stebbins, a subsidiary of Cooper and Company, an international private investment company with quality real estate developments in the U.S. and New Zealand, has been the master developer of Southlake Town Square for 23 years +. They have recently proposed the development of 350 apartment units averaging 1,000 square feet each, and will include such amenities as a pool, fitness center, parking garage and meeting spaces. Through the efforts of Cooper and Stebbins, our premier Southlake Town Square has garnered the highest residential prices in the City, according to their website. Yet, the Town Square has experienced restrained growth over the last decade compared to DFW’s real estate boom for a variety of reasons, and specifically, due to restrictive zoning. Cooper & Stebbins has presented their views on the Square’s sustainability, as follows: “It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself.” ------ Leon C. Megginson Come to our meeting and find out the details of Cooper & Stebbins proposal.
