eNews for September 20: Jared Holroyd, Vocational (Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center)
Join us on Friday for a vocational from Jared Holroyd as he talks about his new gig at The University of Kansas Health System, St. Francis Campus, plus his side gigs of volunteering in the community, plus keeping his family always on their toes.

Peace Builders Committee needs your help!

The Peace Builders committee is requesting help with getting the Day Center for Sex Trafficking Victims ready to open.  Below are a list of dates requested:

Saturday, September 7 – demo, dirty work! Need cabinets torn out, floor covering torn up, a wall torn out, debris hauled to dumpster, and miscellaneous demo work.
Saturday, September 14 – clean up and painting
Saturday, September 21  - more painting!

9:00 am – 1:00pm each day.
The address is 1309 SW Huntoon.

Please wear clothing for dirty work as there will be lots of hands on needed.  Please bring gloves, hammers, pliers, etc. There is vinyl laminate flooring that needs to be torn up and I am not sure what tools might be best for that.

If anyone has a Dolly they can loan out for September 7th, that would be greatly appreciated.

To sign up or if you have any questions, please email Alicia VanWalleghem.

Pumpkin Run: October 26, 2019

The 6th Annual Topeka South Rotary Pumpkin Run is quickly approaching. This is a fun, family friendly event with lot's of fun for all. This 5K run is for serious and casual runners. There is also a 5K walk for those less inclined to run. Everyone's encouraged to dress in your favorite Halloween attire. There will be a costume contest with a prize for one lucky adult and one lucky child. The run takes place at Lake Shawnee, Shelter House #1 at 8:30am on October 26, 2019.  If you would like to participate you can register HERE. Not interested in walking or running but don't want to miss out on any of the fun we still need volunteers! Contact Glenn Jagodzinske to volunteer.

We are currently seeking sponsors and volunteers for this year's Pumpkin Run. If you or your business is interested in sponsoring, please contact Roger Underwood.

Funds raised will be donated to Polio Plus. If you would like to contribute directly to Polio Plus, you can go online at Rotary.org or you could hand a check to Jim Rinner, Austin Wingerson, or Anne Wardner specifying that the funds are to go to Polio Plus. If you contribute online, please send a note to Anne Wardner so we can account for what we have raised.
