4-20:  GLENDA DUBOISE - BRADBURY THOMPSON ALUMNI CENTER

Join your fellow Topeka South Rotarians this Friday in the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center as we welcome Glenda DuBoise, Heartland Visioning, who will breakdown how the Momentum 2022 initiative will benefit Topeka and Shawnee County residents over the next five years and explain the key areas the strategy will be focusing on. The driving force is to make the area a better place to live, work, play and do business by addressing factors that influence the community's competitiveness – talent, education, and training resources, infrastructure, business climate, and quality of life and place.

DONATIONS NEEDED FOR OUR SERVICE TRIP TO GUATEMALA

We are only three months away from this year’s trip to Guatemala and we want to give a big thank you to Topeka South Rotarians for your weekly donations to our can money fund this quarter. Your generous donations will be buying at least 40 pairs of shoes to take to the Guatemalan children and provide us funds to paint the clinic in Patanatic.

This year’s trip will be from July 15th-22nd. We already have several Rotarians from both TSR and the Downtown club committed to going on this trip. They will be personally delivering and/or implementing all of items that TSR and Downtown donate or purchase. If you would like to be a part of this trip please contact Faron Barr (785-266-8333 or fbarr@t-mfinancial.com). This link has more information about the trip.

There are still several items needed to make this years’ service trip a success. Starting at our Friday morning meeting on May 4th and continuing for each Friday in May, we will be collecting the following items:

  • Baby clothes age 1 month to 24 months
  • Tooth brushes
  • Pens and pencils
  • Wood crayons
  • Erasers
  • Soccer balls
  • Basketball and volleyballs
  • Over the counter medicine such as prenatal vitamins, ibuprophen, and Advil
We thank you for your continuous support of this very important project.
