eNews for May 15: Chaz Haven Washburn Tech East (Virtual Zoom Meeting)
Washburn Tech East was started through a desire to offer technical education in East Topeka. They opened in January 2019 and started serving the East Topeka community. They offer three career programs along with GED and ESL courses at the East Topeka site. Join us to hear more about how Washburn Tech East is looking for future expansion of programs offered at this location,
 
A separate email will be sent with the zoom invitation. Join us around the virtual coffee pot at 7:50am and our program will begin promptly at 8:30am.

Topeka South Rotary has its own playlist on Spotify! You submitted your favorite song, now it’s time to listen to your fellow Rotarian’s favorites. Next week the complete list will be emailed out, but you can start enjoying the 55+ song playlist now!
 
Download Spotify from your phone’s app store. Sign up to join (it’s free and super easy!) and search “Topeka South Rotary” for an eclectic and fantastic list of songs that touches on all genres and highlights the diverse interests of our club members.
 
A few tidbits:
  • The award for the most songs submitted goes to Scott Hesse with two lists. His top favorite list totaled 10 songs, plus he submitted an honorable mention list of three more songs!
  • The most unique song goes to Todd Zimlich with “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” Find it and listen – it’s really good!
  • Angie Guber, TSR’s exchange student, shared that her favorite song is “Love on the Weekend” by John Mayer.

TSR Golf Tournament, June 19
The annual Topeka South Rotary Tournament to benefit the Rotary International Foundation is scheduled for June 19. The proceeds raised will allow the club to apply for matching grant funds for programs like Sole Mates and supplies for human trafficking victims. For 2019-2020 Rotary year, TSR was granted $4,701 from the district for these programs.
 
June 19, 1 p.m., Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
