8-18: BRANDON RISON - WASHBURN B

Join us in Washburn Room B in the Washburn Union and hear Brandon Rison, owner and operator of Oddfellow’s Fine Books and Collectables located in Downtown Topeka, share his insights on rare and collectible books. Brandon is a graduate of the Colorado Antiquarian Book School and a member of the Independent Online Booksellers Association (IOBA). His presentation will cover what qualifies a book as ‘collectable’ and how to get started collecting books. Information about Oddfellow’s Fine Books and Collectables can be found online at www.oddfellowbooks.com.

RSVP NOW FOR TOPEKA ROTARY CLUBS SOCIAL

You won't want to miss the All City Topeka Rotary Clubs Social on Thursday, August 31 at 5:30p at Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy. Please strongly consider attending this event. Our District 5710 Governor, Adam Ehlert, is going to be there and he is very much looking forward to meeting members from Topeka's most outstanding Rotary Club!

This will be a terrific time to network with fellow local Rotarians - and you might consider bringing a prospective member. Our Clubs will provide heavy hors d'oeuvres and there will be a cash bar available. You can register your RSVP through this link: http://whoozin.com/EKP-DEQ-QPTG

NEW WAY TO PARTICIPATE IN RLI - LEARN MORE

There is a NEW way for Rotarians to participate in the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI)!

The first and third sessions of RLI will be conducted as we have in the past – on Saturdays at Community America Ballpark in Kansas City, KS (Home of the T-Bones!) – thanks to our District Governor Adam Ehlert for hosting us.

Here is what is NEW - the second session will be held ONLINE in two 2-hour week night evenings. You will be able to participate in this session from the comfort of your home or wherever in the world you are.

RLI is open to any Rotarian who is interested in learning more about our amazing organization. Besides networking and exchanging ideas with other Rotarians, attending will enhance your knowledge of all facets of Rotary and how it works.

SUPPORT SOLE MATES BY PURCHASING CD

Earlier this year Benjy Zhang (son of TSR member Baili Zhang) presented the fourth check to TSR Sole Mates, bringing the total amount he has donated in the past four years to $2,454. He also bid farewell to TSR as he heads to the University of Pennsylvania this fall.

Benjy plans to continue to raise funds for Sole Mates through the sale of his professionally recorded CD, “Music for the Sole," which will be completed in late August. He suggests a donation of $10 per copy, and all proceeds will go to Sole Mates.

Many thanks to Benjy for sharing his immense talents in selfless service.
