Marsha Sheahan will present her Topeka’s Timeline that was developed through her work with the Leadership Greater Topeka program that she directed since its inception in 1984 through 2014.  She is a believer that in order to move forward, one must understand our history….thus this Timeline of major events in Topeka since the 1940’s.  Do NOT miss this one!
 
Coffee's on at 7:15 am and breakfast will be served in the Union, Washburn B, at 7:30 am.
 
Topeka Rescue Mission Yard Clean-Up Project - June 1
 
Please join us on Saturday, June 1 for a 1-day yard clean up project for the Topeka Rescue Mission. TRM has a home that will be used for its mission work that needs our help!
 
We will start at 8:00 am and work until finished. Mike Wilson and Tom Ellis have agreed to be our project leaders, and they estimate it will take us 4 - 5 hours. We need 12 -16 volunteers to get the job done.
 
What you need to know:
  • Wear long pants and close toed shoes
  • Bring gloves
  • You may need sunscreen and insect repellant
  • There is light clean up and heavy lifting work
  • The location is confidential, so only those volunteering will know the address
We also need the following equipment for the day:
  • Rakes
  • Chainsaws
  • Spades
  • Shovels & trowels
  • Round-up
  • Loppers & pruners
  • Wheelbarrows
