PEACE BUILDERS BUILDING FRESH START KITS
Many thanks to everyone who picked up “coupons” at 10/12 meeting to support building the Fresh Start Kits for local organizations to distribute to victims of human trafficking. The generosity of Topeka South Rotary is amazing! We are working to build the first 50 kits by November 15. In order to meet this date, we need to have all of the items gathered by November 9. Between now and November 9, items can be dropped off at Key Staffing 5840 SW Huntoon OR brought to a Friday meeting.

An “Assembly Day” is scheduled for November 15 at the Key Staffing office between 11:00 – 6:00. Stop by for 15 minutes or 30 minutes…whatever your schedule allows. Time can count towards a meeting make up.

There are several ways to support this effort.

Donate specific items – The list is updated to reflect items still needed. Items can be dropped off at Key Staffing 5840 SW Huntoon.

NOTE – toiletry items should not be travel size.

Build your own comfort kit to donate - If you are interested in building a complete kit on your own, see the attached PDF for the list of items included in each kit. Be sure to indicate the size your kit is (i.e. small clothes, large clothes, etc).

Donate money for the purchase of items - If you prefer to donate money, members of the Peace Builder committee will shop for items not donated to complete the kits. Money can be given to Patti Mellard, Alice Weingartner or Austin Wingerson. If you write a check, please make it out to Topeka South Rotary and note on the memo line “Fresh Start Kit”.

Topeka South Rotary Members, this is important….If you donate money or items valued at $100 or more, Patti will donate 100 points for every $100 toward your Paul Harris Fellow. To ensure that you get this credit, please include a receipt or note with your name and value with your donated items.

TSR HOLIDAY PARTY DATE

The Topeka South Rotary's Annual Holiday Party will be Saturday, December 8, at the Topeka Country Club. Social hour starts at 6 pm and dinner will be served at 7 pm. Be ready for lots of laughs, holiday cheer and a bit of fun. More details will be released closer to the event date.
