eNews for May 29: Dr. Pezzino, Shawnee County Health Officer (Virtual Zoom Meeting)
You don't want to miss this week's TSR speaker, Shawnee County Health Officer, Dr. Gianfranco Pezzino. We've all seen him on TV and social media but now we get to hear from him ourselves. We will learn more about the county's response to COVID-19 and answer questions you may have.

Sign up now! TSR Golf Tournament, June 19
The annual Topeka South Rotary Tournament to benefit the Rotary International Foundation is scheduled for June 19. The proceeds raised will allow the club to apply for matching grant funds for programs like Sole Mates and supplies for human trafficking victims. For 2019-2020 Rotary year, TSR was granted $4,701 from the district for these programs.

June 19, 1 p.m., Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Who's Got Space? TSR Moving Forward in Post COVID World
While I know we all are grateful for the technology that allows us to get together in our COVID environment, the TSR Board is looking beyond zoom and what/when we might be able to get back together face-to-face, in our new normal. With that, we are contacting locations/businesses that would be able to host our physical meetings, at least short-term, while Washburn University is working on what their off-site campus meetings plan will look like, moving forward.

We are already contacting locations/businesses to check their availability, but if you have an idea for a free space, either at your business or local spot, email Ashley Charest at ashleycharest@gmail.com

Get your air guitars ready!
Topeka South Rotary has its own playlist on Spotify! You submitted your favorite song, now it’s time to listen to your fellow Rotarian’s favorites. Next week the complete list will be emailed out, but you can start enjoying the 55+ song playlist now!

Download Spotify from your phone’s app store. Sign up to join (it’s free and super easy!) and search “Topeka South Rotary” for an eclectic and fantastic list of songs that touches on all genres and highlights the diverse interests of our club members.

A few tidbits:
  • The award for the most songs submitted goes to Scott Hesse with two lists. His top favorite list totaled 10 songs, plus he submitted an honorable mention list of three more songs!
  • The most unique song goes to Todd Zimlich with “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” Find it and listen – it’s really good!
  • Angie Guber, TSR’s exchange student, shared that her favorite song is “Love on the Weekend” by John Mayer.

Get ready to sing loud and louder, Topeka South Rotary!!!
