The Historic Ritchie House is located at 1116 SE Madison Topeka, KS 66612. Believed to be the oldest house in Topeka and was a stop on the Underground Railroad. The Ritchies' were radical abolitionists from Indiana and advocated to eliminate the word “white” from requirements of citizenship. Come see this iconic piece of Kansas history. Meet at the Ritchie House at 7:45 am. Please note: we will be offering this experience both in-person or via zoom depending on your comfort level. If you attend in person, you will be required to wear a mask. We will likely hold the meeting outdoors to hear the presentation from Bob Cotton. He will give a tour of the inside the home in small groups of 5-10 people at a time. |
