Join us Friday in the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center to learn how US Army veteran Casey Campbell of Midwest Float found relief from chronic pain, stress and anxiety and turned it into a business that is offering the same benefits and a better quality of life to the community at large. He will also share how he uses floating to give back and grow our community.
For those of you who sponsored, participated, or volunteered for our 5th Annual Pumpkin Run and for those who donated directly to Polio Plus, I want to extend my utmost gratitude for making this year's event successful. Your involvement has been incredible and it is great to work with you such wonderful people. This year we had 48 runners, 34 walkers, and 18 strollers for a total of 100 participants! It was a chilly morning, but the spirits were high as we, once again, came together to eradicate polio.
All the runners can find their results at the following link https://www.athlinks.com/event/206806/results/Event/649639/Results. Please all of the sponsors and volunteers their help when you have a chance. I want to especially thank the Pumpkin Run Committee. Without this committee of dedicated Rotarians, this event would not have happened. I will have numbers on what we raised once everything is calculated and will report this to you soon.
We're are changing things up a little at Topeka South Rotary and giving people an opportunity to sign up for the morning invocation each week, providing the ability to plan ahead and select a more personal invocation. We would love to have invocations from all faiths and walks of life. There's nothing that says it has to be a prayer, maybe it's a morning meditation, or thought for the day. And don't worry, if you don't want to come up with your own we have found some great additional ones from Rotary organizations all over the world.
If you would like to sign up online just click here or email Cassandra. In case you want to direct your invocation at the subject matter of the day, we've included in the online document a list of our weekly speakers. Red Badges, keep in mind this is a great way to check off one of your Blue Badge Requirements! There are 34 weeks left open for the board year. With over 100 members I have faith this will fill up quickly.
